The Ballestas Islands and Paracas are two natural jewels located on the southern coast of Peru, captivating tourists with their amazing biodiversity and scenic beauty. The Ballestas Islands, often called “the Galapagos of Peru,” are a paradise for birdwatching and marine life, with colonies of Humboldt penguins, sea lions, guano birds, and impressive rock formations. On the other hand, Paracas stands out for its National Reserve, a spectacular coastal desert where visitors can appreciate golden dunes and cliffs that contrast with the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean. Together, these destinations offer a unique experience for nature and adventure lovers in Peru.
6:30 AM: Pickup at the Hotel We will start the day by picking you up at your hotel and transferring you to the new tourist dock in Paracas.
8:30 AM: Ballestas Islands We will board a speedboat to begin an exciting nearly 1-hour excursion to the Ballestas Islands.
The Ballestas Islands are home to thousands of migratory birds and colonies of sea lions. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to observe Humboldt penguins and a variety of marine wildlife.
10:00 AM: Tour of the Paracas National Reserve From the dock, we will head to the Paracas National Reserve, the largest natural sanctuary on the Peruvian coasts.
We will begin our visit at the RNP Interpretation Center, where we will learn about the rich biodiversity of the region. Then, we will head to the famous natural rock formation known as “The Cathedral” and enjoy its spectacular panoramic view.
We will continue with a panoramic visit to the Red and Yumaque beaches, where we can appreciate the beauty of the coast.
01:30 PM: Lunch We will transfer to Lagunillas Beach, where you will have the option to enjoy lunch.
03:00 PM: Return to Ica We will conclude our day of exploration and return to the Plaza de Armas in Ica.
